Something about ballet

Hello, everybody!)

I would like to tell you about another passion of mine (besides travelling), about ballet. One of the best things about living in Moscow is the Bolshoi Theatre  . I am lucky to be able to go to the Bolshoi frequently enough and see great performances on one of the most famous and important stages in the world.

My favourite ballerina in the Bolshoi is Svetlana Zacharova. Since I have become a big fan of hers I try to go to each of her performances. The last performance I have seen was a modern ballet by John Neumeier, ”Anna Karenina”. I was really impressed with modern view on this classical Russian novel, and of course my favourite character in this performance is Anna Karenina. Svetlana Zacharova is a brilliant ballerina, she is beautiful, ideally technical, perfectly formed and she is for sure one of the greatest ballerinas in the world.

Reykjavik, “101 hotel”

I arrived in Reykjavik in the afternoon, the journey from home was long enough, one and a half hours from Moscow to Helsinki, and three and a half hours from Helsinki to Reykjavik, so I was a bit tired and spent the rest of the day in the “101 hotel”. This is one of the best hotels in Reykjavik, very ordinary from the outside but really well designed inside.

There is a gorgeous view from the big window of the city and harbor (by the way, if you are staying in the hotel during the Rock festival or state holiday concerts, you have a good chance to listen to a concert with no need to go outside, because there is no soundproofing in the hotel🙂).

My room was big enough, with a really comfortable bed and an open-plan bathroom.
I was impressed by the “Kitchen & Wine” restaurant – their burgers are delicious!

I have to admit that “101 hotel” is quite expensive, but I still like it.

Hello, everybody!)

It takes such a long long time to start writing for my pages…

I want to tell stories about interesting moments in my life, about far away journeys, about some art events, about amazing people.

It’s hard to decide what is the best story to start with. Well, I will try to tell you about Iceland, the land of Ice and Fire.

I was traveling in Iceland last August. Actually, it was one of my best holidays and for sure the most magical journey of my life.

The country is as green as it possible to be in the modern world, sparsely populated and full of fairy tale stories about elves, trolls, ancient Gods and heroes.

Iceland is located between the North Pole and Western Europe, 3 hours from Helsinki or Oslo, as the crow flies.

There are dozens of waterfalls, geysers, volcanoes and fresh water lakes in Iceland. In the mountains you can see glaciers and volcanoes at the same time.

I was lucky enough to see a few hidden magical valleys in the South of Iceland and the famous Black Sand beach where a lot of scenes of Game of Thrones were filmed.
